's office in nevada which was actually across the state line. it took lake tahoe police reportedly more than a day and a half to notify nevada. we called them this morning and we are waiting to hear what they have to say about it. meantime, alyssa burns has not been seen since shortly before midnight according to friends who were with her. she was in town for a three day music festival which attracts thousands. she disappeared around 11:30 and told her friends she was taking a shuttle back to the resort. she was spotted by guests in the lobby around midnight. she worked as a hostess here in petaluma and was studying to be a paramedic firefighter at the campus. again she is described as 5- foot 3, long hair died black and a fair complexion. we'll see where all of this stands right now with the investigation. live in petaluma, ktvu channel 2 morning news. >>> a court arrangement is set for today accused of hitting and killing 2 innocent people in new year's morning. ktvu channel 2 morning news has obtained this armature video from south vanness on 21st street. david morales caused the deadly

to the governor of nevada giving his state of the state address giving out this particular issue. [video clip] >> i announced nevada would comply with the affordable care act as they related to the expansion of medicare services. as a result, some 78,000 more nevadans will have coverage without facing the new tax penalties imposed by the affordable care act. [applause] the federal law allows us to shift the mental health and other state spending to other sources say. the general on nearly $25 million over the biennium. over the next six years, this will create up to 8000 new health-care jobs and inject over half a billion dollars into where state's economy. as i noted before, we must increase taxes to bear the increased cost of the affordable care act, but the issue of the long-term health care costs remain. as such, i believe we must ask certain medicaid patients to have a modest contribution. i will insist nv will be able to opt out of the expansion program in early -- in later years should circumstances change. cool here over all of nevada and california. this weak low along the coast will bring up just a little bit of light shower activity. most of you will see a quarter inch or more. is there more cold air on the way? this tracks the cold air from the arctic over the next seven days. you can see the blue shows where the cold is. it looks like for the most part throughout the upcoming weekend, much of the country warms up. then a little sliver of cold air comes down at us it. looks like tuesday, wednesday and thursday of next week and probably significantly kind of cold in areas of idaho and montana and near spokane. again, that's the middle of next week. so we get a little break from this cold spell. then it looks like next week gets chilly in the northwest, but today's forecast again, just a few late-day showers. that's the only weather headline out there. that's a look at the nationalou california, enjoyable right through the weekend. i don't think you mind the cold so much as long as it is sunny. when you get the cold and cloudy it is a lot worse. >> that does make things worse. thank yo

nevada. for 30 years, republicans and democrats in nevada have said they don't want nuclear waste buried in nevada. anything that touches the local state touches the constituents, and touches the people who are going to vote for them. when we get to national issues, however, it is different situation. the number out of 233 republicans and house, only 16 of them were elected from districts carried by president obama. up to 200 democrats -- of the 200 democrats, only eight or nine or elected from districts carried by governor romney. that means the greatest danger to these republicans and democrats is in the primaries. what happens if you or a member of congress, you are great concern is to protect yourself in those primaries from people coming at you from the left and right. congresswoman edwards touched on it. there is only one way around this. it takes leadership to provide cover in politics, to get people the courage to stand up and do what is right. how do you get there? members of congress -- i have been in this town for 30 years. they don't know each other anymore. they don't spend
